Hello, friends! I recently had a mini shimmer powder session, which I haven’t done in awhile. I used my favorite technique for the powders from Lindy’s Gang, which is the emboss resist technique using a rubber stamp from Hero Arts. I also used some fun new holiday sentiments from Hero Arts.
HERO ARTS HOLIDAY STAMP ALONG 2026:

Both cards feature the Hand Drawn Snowflakes cling stamp from Hero Arts. This has been in my stash for a long time, and it’s one of my favorites for using with shimmer powders. I used three colors from the Drop Dead Diva set of Magicals from Lindy’s Gang: Sassy Sapphire, Hi Maintenance Magenta, and Bling-y Blonde. First, I heat embossed the stamp onto watercolor paper using clear embossing powder. You can also use white, but since the paper is white, it works the same either way. Next I sprinkled on a little bit of each color and then spritzed the panel with water. The results are so easy and, well, magical! I did try to sop up any puddles that were creating muddy colors where the purple and green met. I’m really happy with how this panel turned out!
I chose to let the background be the star of the card and chose some simple sentiments from the new Season’s Greetings Stamp Set. This is one large stamp that gives you 36 sentiments! You can either trim them apart with your paper trimmer. or you can use the coordinating Sentiment Strips Fancy Die to cut them all apart at once, which is what I did. As you can see, I stamped (and heat embossed) on several different colors of cardstock to coordinate with the background. I then mounted each strip onto a larger white strip to help make them stand out from the busy background.
For my second card, I again heat embossed the Hand Drawn Snowflakes cling stamp onto watercolor paper. This time, I used the Tea & Crumpets set of Magicals from Lindy’s Gang in the following colors: Lizzy’s Cuppa’ Tea Teal, Dunka’ Biscuit Blue Green, and Butter the Toast Blue. I used the same exact technique as the first card, heat embossing the stamp onto watercolor paper, sprinkling the powders on the paper and then spritzing it with water. Don’t you love how the different colors totally transform the look?
For this card, I used another new set of sentiments from Hero Arts: the Very Merry Wishes Stamp & Cut, which comes with matching dies. I heat embossed the sentiment onto blue card stock to match the background. The cutie in the middle of the card is the new Spectacular Penguin from Spellbinders.
