Hello, friends! Perhaps I’m just making up for lost time, but since I’ve been feeling motivated and inspired, I’ve been creating a lot lately! Today, I am sharing several projects that feature two new stamp sets from Simon Hurley, which are now available on the Spellbinders site. They are absolutely adorable, and I had such fun playing with both.

NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

The first stamp set that I played with is the new Easter Bunnies stamp set. It is just too cute! I decided to watercolor with my Distress Inks – it’s been awhile since I’ve done that. I used some new watercolor paper from Spellbinders and my large water media mat. I didn’t do anything fancy – no masking or anything like that. I just decided to let the cute stamps be cute. This stamp set also comes with matching dies, which can be purchased separate or as a bundle.

I really wanted to use several of these stamps, so rather than create a large scene on one card, I decided to use a couple of the cute bunnies on some tags. I think the sentiments are just as cute as the stamps! I incorporated some plaid paper on both tags, added some ribbon, and then also added a little flower from the Mini Blooms & Sprigs set. I even used some velvet ribbon trim for the first time – this has been in my Tim Holtz stash drawer forever!

Next up is the adorable Big Hugs, and it is super cute. It’s much more graphic than the bunnies, so they’re cute in different ways. The critters in this set can stand on their own without much coloring, which I love. This set also has matching dies, which you can also purchase in a bundle. There are lots of cute little accessories in this set, like balloons, a party hat, a cake, a graduation cap, etc. But, I wanted to keep my cards fairly clean and simple. These are both going into my stash of cards that I will send to my son while he’s at camp this summer! I know they will put a smile on his face when he opens them up!

My first card features the panda from this set. I stamped the panda and added a little bit of shading with my OLO markers. You can’t really see much of that, since his belly is hidden behind the main card panel! The rainbow paper behind him is from my favorite paper pad, JJ’s Rainbows. The hearts and the sentiment are both part of the stamp set. The blue card base is the gorgeous Island Blue card stock from Spellbinders. I have always needed the perfect blue paper to go with this rainbow paper pad, and this is as close as it gets!

My second card features the cat from the set. I think it could also be a raccoon…maybe? Either way, this guy has so much personality, that I had to have him dropping in from above. I again used my OLO markers for shading and some paper from the JJ’s Rainbows paper pad. The word die comes from the new  Fresh Picked Sentiments. The stamped sentiment is from a retired MFT stamp set called Bitty Hugs & Kisses.

I hope these cards bring a smile to your face today! Leave me a comment and let me know which one is your favorite. As always, I appreciate you visiting my blog.

Wishing you all a crafty day,

Allison
