Hello, friends! It’s me again! I hope things are warming up where you live. The snow here in Colorado is starting to melt, and the roads are turning into that lovely color of slush. So, I thought I would share a beautiful visual of winter with today’s card. This card features some gorgeous papers from Your Paper Insider. The folks there sent me their “mystery box #5, ” and as we all know how behind I got over the holidays, I am just playing with it now! Your Paper Insider offers a subscription-based service where they send you a box of curated paper four times a year. Box #6 is shipping now! You can also buy Box #5, as well as other past boxes, and you can also buy some of the individual packs of specialty paper, which I think is really great.

I have a new video where I show the contents of Box #5, as well as the making of this card. You can view that below or head directly over to YouTube

Note: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

My card today features three different papers from Your paper Insider, including probably my all-time-favorite, the White Lava Holographic Cardstock, which can be purchased separately as a pack. My pictures don’t come close to capturing the essence of this paper, so definitely watch the video, especially where I unbox this particular piece! The beautiful snowflake is from the  Crochet Snowflake Layering Set set from Birch Press Design. I used the White Lava Holographic cardstock for both the top snowflake layer and the main panel of the card. I embossed this panel with the Sparkling Snow 3D Embossing Folder from Spellbinders. I also added some small die cut snowflakes from the Felicity Snowflakes set, also from Birch Press Design.

The blue layer of the snowflake was cut from a gorgeous metallic piece of cardstock from Box #5, and the purple layer is a shimmery, satin piece of cardstock that was in Box #4. I also used the blue metallic on the base of the card, which gives a nice frame to the overall card. I used the purple satin paper to hot foil my sentiment. Yes, you can hot foil on specialty papers! The hot foiled sentiments turned out flawless.

That’s it for my card today, but I am off to play with more of the papers from this box! I love getting new paper to play with, and like today, it can often give me the inspiration that I need. I hope this card brings a smile to your face. As always, I appreciate you visiting my blog.

Wishing you all a crafty day,

Allison

  1. Super gorgeous! I love anything w/ snowflakes. I can’t afford this subscription just now, but I like hearing about it. Maybe someday….It’s terrific to get a sneak peek without committing financially. Thanks!
