Hello, Friends. I can’t believe it’s already the weekend again – this week flew by. Today, I am sharing another birthday card featuring the Giant Happy Birthday die from Lawn Fawn. I combined it with one of my favorite background techniques using Nuvo Shimmer Powders.

I started by cutting some off-white card stock with the Happy Birthday die. I also used the die to cut two layers of heavy white card stock. I offset the main layer on top of the two white layers to create dimension. I used the same off-white card stock to create an A2 card base.

I cut some more of the off-white paper, as well as some watercolor paper, using several flower and leaf dies from the Waffle Flower Sprigs Die set. I love these dies – they are so versatile! I also cut a panel of watercolor paper to 5″ x 3.75″. On this panel, I stamped the MFT All Lined Up background stamp with Versamark ink and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. I sprinkled some Nuvo Shimmer Powders onto the panel in the following colors: Atlantis Burst, Blue Blitz, Solar Flare, and Cherry Bomb. I spritzed the panel with water and let the powders do their magic. I have done this technique with this stamp before, and I love how the colors collect in all of the little nooks and crannies. Once my panel was dry, I popped it onto my card base using foam tape.

I sprinkled a tiny bit of the powders onto my Glass Media Mat, spritzed it with water, and then dragged my watercolor die-cut leaves through it. Once dry, I layered these on top of the off-white die-cuts. Assembly was pretty straightforward. I figured out where I wanted to tuck my leaves and flowers behind the sentiment and glued those down onto the card panel. I then glued the layered sentiment on top.

To finish my card, I sprinkled a few gems from my much-loved Pinkfresh Studio Jewels Mix. That’s it for my card today! I wish you could see the shimmer in the pictures – it is really cool. Thank you so much for joining me.

Wishing you all a crafty day!
