Hello, friends and happy Friday! I hope you have had a great week. I am back with another baby card featuring the new Through the Window release from Waffle Flower. I just can’t seem to stop with these adorable dies! Plus, I thought of an idea to make a baby blanket background, so I had to see if it would work. My card today features the following new products:

For my card today, it was hard to choose from all the adorable baby dies from this release! The rattle, bottle, socks and diaper come from the Postage Collage Baby Icons Die set. The adorable bib, as well as the duck on the diaper, come from the Baby Announcement Die set. I cut all of the elements from an off-white card stock and then inked them up with Distress Ink. I used Tattered Rose, Antique Linen, and just a little bit of Vintage Photo on the bear. How cute is that bear?! The sentiment is from the Baby Announcement Sentiments Combo, and I stamped it with Cherry Blossom ink from Pinkfresh Studio.
Let’s talk about the baby blanket in the back…or at least, I hope it looks like a blanket! I started with the largest die from the Fringe Frames Die set. This is a nested die set and has a fun deckled edge. But more than that, it has these little tassel pieces that you can add in the corners. After I cut a piece of the off-white card stock with the Fringe Frame, I ran it through my die cutting machine again with the Tiny Square Texture Die. This die has several coordinating stencil sets, and for this card I used the Patchwork Stencil. This set has three stencils, but I only used two so that some of the patchwork remained that off-white color. I used the Tattered Rose and Antique Linen Distress Ink for the two stencils. When my sister and I had babies, my mom knitted blankets that had different color blocks, and this is where my idea came from. This obviously looks more quilted, so if you quilt blankets, this is a great idea for you, too!
My card base is 4.75 x 6, which is a size I have been using a lot lately. It fits in a 5×7 envelope. I mounted the “blanket” onto the card base with foam tape. I then used foam strips to add all of the elements on top. As a finishing touch, I added some glitter embellishments.
I hope this card brings a smile to your face today. As always, I appreciate you visiting my blog.
Wishing you all a crafty day,
Allison
