Hello, crafty friends. I am excited to be participating in the kickoff of the  Pretty Pink Posh  September release! We are celebrating with a video hop over on YouTube (see more info below). This release is all about fall – my favorite time of year! As always, there are dies, stencils, stamps and new shaker bits. My card today is…not a card! I decided to use a die that has been sitting in my stash the past year and make a fun treat box. It features the following products from the new release:

Video Hop Giveaway

I started my project with the Birthday Treat Box Die set, which I bought last year and have been wanting to play with. I cut it from pink card stock and assembled it in no time at all – it’s so easy! I wanted to add a shaker element to the front of the treat box, so I used the smallest die from the new Pinking Circles Dies set. I found a slightly smaller circle die in my stash to use with it so that I could create a ring shape from that pinking circle. I cut six rings total. I stacked five of them and then glued those onto a full pinking circle, or the “backer” of the shaker. I poured the new Blush Harvest Shaker Beads into the resulting well and then closed up the shaker by adhering acetate on top of the stack of rings. Finally, I adhered the sixth and final ring on top, and my shaker element was done! I adhered that on to the front of the treat box, and then I added the “fall” word die on top of that. This word die comes from the new Fall Holder Additions Dies.

Next, it was time to make the Mouse Holder and the other little goodies to decorate the treat box. With the exception of the acorn and the facial features of the mouse, I cut all of the elements out of the same off-white card stock that I used for the shaker element. I used Distress inks to color those die cuts (Saltwater Taffy, Worn Lipstick, Vintage Photo, and Walnut Stain). I added the smaller elements, which all come from the Fall Holder Additions Dies, to the ends of “sticks” which I pulled from the Halloween Cake Pops Dies set. By the way, this is the same die set where I found the smaller circle die to make the shaker element!

Yes, this is a treat box. No, there are no treats in the box. No, I did not eat the treats. Okay, fine…I did. In my defense, the Reese’s wrapper had purple in it, and the artist/perfectionist in me could not ruin the photo just for the sake of having candy in it. That’s what I’m going to tell myself when my pants don’t fit tomorrow.

I hope this fun little project brings a smile to your face today! As always, I appreciate you visiting my blog.

Wishing you all a crafty day,

Allison
