Hello, friends! Today, I am sharing the Lisa Horton Snowflakes Collection from Spellbinders. This is a collection that I spoke a little about last month, and now I finally got a video together to share my cards. I love snowflake dies, especially ones that layer, so the Layered Snowflakes set is right up my alley! I created a clean and simple set of 2 For 1 cards. I also have a couple other cards with the collection, which feature the Snowflake Joy Stamp & Die Set and the Gift Boxes and Bags die set.

Early Access! 2026 Crafty Advent Calendar

If you are a Spellbinders club member, you get early access to the new Spellbinders Crafty Advent Calendar! This officially launches tomorrow, August 27, but club members can get a head start before the general public.

NEW VIDEO

I do have a new video today. You can CLICK HERE to view it on YouTube, or you can view it below.

NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

If you live outside of the United States/North America, you might want to head over to the  Spellbinders UK website.

My first two cards are the 2 For 1 set that I made with the Layered Snowflakes.  This first card uses the negative panels, so the design builds down instead of up. That dark Oceanside panel is the highest point of the card. I pulled a trio of blue colors of ColorWheel Cardstock for my cards today – Breeze, Malibu, and Oceanside. You’ll see in the video that I ended up pulling the panel that I made with the Breeze color, and then I added in the beautiful Wild Berry color for contrast.

The sentiment is from the new Winter Words Letterpress + Foil & Cut from Hero Arts. I foiled the sentiment onto Oceanside cardstock with white opaque foil, which looks so sharp. I added some dark blue gems around the snowflake to finish up the design. Note that this is a slightly larger card than my normal A2 size. The overall size is 4.75″ x 6″, which fits nicely into an A7 envelope.

My second card uses the actual snowflake shapes from the Layered Snowflakes. The bottom two layers, made from Oceanside and Malibu ColorWheel Cardstock, are from the panels that I cut for the first card. The white snowflake is what you get when you combine the dies that I used for the bottom two panels on the first card. Then there is a small center detail that I cut from Oceanside. I glued all these layers together and then adhered the resulting snowflake to an A2 card base covered in Breeze cardstock.

I used the same sentiment from the Winter Words Letterpress + Foil & Cut that I used on the first card, but this time I inked it up using Red Hot ink from Gina K Designs and my BetterPress. To dress up the panel a bit, I added some ribbon dies from the Ribbon & Trim die set using that beautiful Wild Berry color. As a finishing touch, I added some pretty gems to the snowflake.

This next card features the new Snowflake Joy Stamp & Die Set. There is one stamp in this set which stamps all the sentiments at once, and then you can use the matching die to cut them all out at once. Watch the video to see how I stamped these sub sentiments onto my panel, which I made with the Perfect Touch Rectangles set. Thist set of rectangle dies is still my favorite!

I shared this card last month in this video. However, this Lisa Horton collection was experiencing delays at the time, and then I forgot to pop back in to share the details. The cute little gift bag on this card is from the new Gift Boxes and Bags set. I do want to note that I was using an earlier prototype of this die, so the little white tie/ribbon/bow that you see on my gift bag has been revised – you’ll see the revised one on the packaging.

The bear is from the Spectacular Bear set. The background was made from the A2 Herringbone Decor 3D Embossing Folder. The sentiment is from the Spectacular Holiday Sentiments Stamp & Die Set. The hat is from the Chompster die set, which is included in the Just Add Cake Birthday Cardmaking Kit. And finally, the cute little fish in the bag is from The Deep Blue Two – the Small Die of the Month from August 2025.

I hope my cards and video bring a smile to your face today. As always, I appreciate you visiting my blog.

Wishing you all a crafty day,

Allison
