Hello, friends! Today, I am sharing a unique card for me and a unique collection for Spellbinders – the Buttons & Keepsakes Collection by Frank Garcia. This collection is so much fun, and it really pushed me to try new things and just have fun. I do have a secret love affair with shabby chic, but it’s a style I never really feel like I can pull off. This collection helps you do that. Or, like the sentiment on my card says, celebrate in your own style! I think there are some really fun things you can do with this collection and still “stay in your lane”. I just really love experimenting when I get the chance.
I did film this card and hope to have a video soon. It has been hard to find time to create videos lately, but I am going to try my best, and I’ll update this blog post when I do.
NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

Let’s first talk about the Buttons & Keepsakes Collection. This is a really big collection that includes Press Plates, embossing folders, and dies. BUT, it also includes tons of other goodies to help create amazing projects – charms, buttons, ephemera, paper, dimensional flowers, and more! I don’t have any of those other goodies, and I wish I had some of those flowers for my card! What I do have, and what I started my card with, is the new Blushing Macarons BetterPress Ink Mini Set. This is a set of four beautiful, muted colors that I know I will use often. For my card, I used the Rose color on one of the BetterPress Cotton Card Panels that are included with the BetterPress machine. As you can see from the picture, this was just one of the many panels I created for the card.
I used the Torn Paper Edges dies to create the edges on all the panels. The first piece on the left is a bit surprising because I used the Spellbinders Centerline Measuring Tape to make it. The second piece, as well as the base of the card which you see on the right, is paper from the Little Dreamers Paper Pack from 49 and Market. I absolutely love this paper. You will also see some Mummy Cloth running vertically on the panel, as well as tied up at the top.
For the die cut elements on the card, the focal point is the Couture Dressform Die Set. I cut the dress form shape from both Alabaster paper, as well as a patterned paper from my stash. On the front dress form, I added a dress that I cut from a pale pink card stock. This is all included in the die set. If you look closely at the top, there are some button die cuts. But these aren’t from a die set. I actually die cut the circles from my nesting circles set and ran them through the new Haberdashery Buttons 3D Embossing Folder. This folder is made up of a bunch of buttons, and I just placed my small circle in the folder over the button that I wanted and ran it through my die cutting machine! As for the other die cuts, I just went through my stash of Spellbinders flowers to find ones that I liked. But like I said, I wish that I had some of the dimensional flowers from this collection. And, of course, the paper! You know I’m addicted to patterned paper!
The sentiment on my card is from the Sculpted Scripted Floral Stamp & Die Set. To finish the card, I added pearl embellishments to the centers of the flowers.
I hope this card brings a smile to your face today. As always, I appreciate you visiting my blog.
Wishing you all a crafty day,
Allison
