Hello, friends! I am thrilled to be joining Spellbinders today for a blog hop celebrating our favorite club add-ons from January through May 2024. These add-on dies came free with and were exclusive to the Deluxe Caboodle Value Club for those months, and now they are available for purchase! However, you do need to be a club member (any club) in order to purchase these. CLICK HERE to check out all of the amazing monthly clubs!
When I was asked to pick my favorite add-on, I knew I had to pick “Fairy Tales“…mainly because it is something that has patiently been sitting on my desk waiting to be used! I was so busy making Harry Potter cards with the March club kits, that I wasn’t able to make anything with this adorable castle. So, here we are! I am also going to include an image below of the card that I made with the January add-on die called Honey Dippin’. I still love that adorable card.
Since my card today uses the August Small Die of the Month, I am also going to share one of my August club cards with you. That can be found below, as well.
GIVEAWAY: To celebrate this release, Spellbinders is giving away a $25 gift certificate to 3 lucky blog readers. Winners will be selected from the comments on the Spellbinders blog. Giveaway closes Sunday, August 11th, 11:59 pm MST. The winner will be announced in the Spellbinders blog hop post the following Wednesday. The winner is responsible for shipping costs, duties, and taxes.

I do have a video on my YouTube channel showing how I made today’s cards, as well as the backgrounds. You can watch that below or CLICK HERE to view on YouTube.
NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.
I started this card with a background that I created with ink sprays. Specifically, I used Dyan Reaveley’s Dylusions Ink Sprays. These are very similar to Tim Holtz’s Distress Spray Stains. For this panel, I used the colors Funky Fuschia and Vibrant Turquoise. I then used the Fairy Tales die set to cut pieces from white and pale blue card stock. I used gray card stock behind the open windows, and I also cut some of the little detail pieces from white and purple glitter card stock. I assembled the castle with liquid glue and adhered it to my ink-sprayed background.
I used one of the dies from the Color Block Cloudscape set to create the white cloud-shaped panel at the bottom of the card. I stamped a sentiment with black pigment ink. This sentiment comes from a retired set from My Favorite Things called Magical Unicorns. I then added the “wish big” words to the panel. These come from the August Small Die of the Month kit, which is called “Colorful Expressions Sentiments”. There are eighteen word dies in this set – wow! To finish the card, I added some white glitter stars, which I cut using the dies from the Fairy Tales set.
This is the card that I made with the January 2024 Add-on Honey Dippin’. You can find more details about this card in my January club post HERE.
My last card to share today features the August Large Die of the Month, which is called “Colorful Expressions Blooms”. My background for this card was made with Distress Spray Stains. I used Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed, and Broken China. I used the largest flower from the die set and cut it out of the background. I used another sprayed panel to cut the large leaves. I glued the leaves down onto the panel and then glued another of the large flowers that I had cut with white card stock on top of the leaves, right where I had cut the original flower from. I then replaced that sprayed flower that I had cut from the panel and glued it just in the center. That way, the leaves have dimension and you can see the white flower peeking from underneath. I also cut some of the smaller flowers from the die set in white and tucked those under the leaves.
For the sentiment, I again used some word dies from the Small Die of the Month, and I cut those from some ink sprayed panels. This time, I used the matching shadow dies, cut from white card stock. The subsentiment comes from a Simon Says Stamp set called Reverse Gratitude. To finish the card, I added some tiny gems onto the center of the tiny flowers. I also added a white gel pen highlight to all the little die cut holes in the center of the flower.
That’s it for my cards today. Be sure to hop along for your chance at a $25 gift card!
