Hello, friends! I hope you are all doing well. Today, I am sharing two cards that combine two of my favorite things – die cutting and my happy colors! My cards feature the Florence Plate from Simon Says Stamp. There are so many different ways to use this plate, and it is absolutely gorgeous just by itself. But, I found a few new ways to play with it today.

BIG SALE! Starting May 31st, you can get 15% off site wide at Simon Says Stamp! Just use the code CRFTXL at checkout! This discount code is valid through June 2, 2024 at 11:59pm ET. Great time to stock up on supplies!

I share both of these cards in my new YouTube video. You can CLICK HERE to view directly on YouTube, or you can view it below.

NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

For my first card, I use the Florence Medallion die to add texture to the Florence Plate. The medallion is a complementary but standalone die, and I love the detail that it adds. Because many of the medallions hung over the edges of the card base, I chose to cover up the unfinished look by creating my own frame. I used the Blanket Stitched Rectangles set from PinkFresh Studio to achieve that.

I used the Birthday Wishes die from Simon Says Stamp for my main sentiment. This die set does come with a shadow die, but I chose to just use the words – I didn’t want to cover up too much of that background! To finish the design, I found some pearl embellishments that fit right inside the centers of the medallions.

For my second card, I used the Florence Plate to cut a green panel of card stock, and then I used the cutout pieces from the first card to add texture on top. These cutout pieces could easily have been used for a die cut inlay technique, but I thought this was a fun alternative.

To accentuate the design, I added some bling in the form of White Sparkle Spots from Trinity Stamps and Aqua Glitter Drops from PinkFresh Studio. I chose a simple, but elegant word die from Birch Press Design to finish the card.

This Florence die is a lot of fun to play with. Simon actually has several other cover plates that are similar, in that they have a standalone die that complements them. The one on my wish list is the fun Bubble Burst Plate

I hope these cards bring a smile to your face today. Leave a comment and let me know which card you like the best! As always, I appreciate you visiting my blog.

Wishing you all a crafty day,

Allison
