Hello, friends! Have you heard about the brand new Rainbow Splash product line from Simon Says Stamp?  This is an exciting addition to their lineup, especially if you are new to card making! This is a really approachable group of products with great price points and includes some great basics to start your own collection. If you’re not new to card making, you will love it, too. I know that I do! I have a video introducing all of the products – you can view that below or head over to YouTube. I do have a GIVEAWAY that I mention in my video. See details about MY GIVEAWAY at the end of this post

UPDATE TO VIDEO:

One thing I want to clarify that was not in my video is that there is a new black ink pad that is part of this collection! At the time I made my video, I had not received it yet, so I had said that there were 16 ink pads. But, there are actually 17! The black ink pad is different than the rest of these ink pads. This black ink is a “Premium” pad. It has a felt pad (the others have a foam pad). It won’t bleed when using watercolors or alcohol ink markers! So, it is an extremely important and awesome part of this collection.

Note: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I did create some cards using the new products, but I was really focused on keeping the cards simple and approachable. So, no crazy techniques today! My first card (above) is a really easy flat shaker card. I embossed a white panel of card stock with the new Cascading Hearts Embossing Folder. I created the rainbow color blend with three of the new inks – Princess, Dandelion, and Lake. The sentiments are from the Reverse Bold Love Sentiment Strips. If you want to see how to make a flat shaker like this, you can watch me make one in this video

My second card was quick and easy, thanks to the water-reactive properties of the new Rainbow Splash inks (similar to the existing Pawsitively Saturated ink line). I embossed a panel of Bristol Smooth paper with the new Folk Flower Embossing Folder and then painted it with the new inks. The sentiment comes from the new Happy Blooms Stamp Set

My third card features some of the new colored card stock, both on the front panel itself, as well as the balloons. I ran the blue card stock through the new Twinkling Stars Embossing Folder. I then created soft clouds by pouncing white pigment ink onto the panel with the new Sponge Applicator Tool. The balloons come from the new Birthday Wishes stamp set. I white heat embossed them and cut them out with the matching die set. The sentiment comes from the new Bold Messages stamp set. I white heat embossed it on black card stock and fussy cut it.

Everything you see on my fourth card is brand new, but I think the star of the card is the new pack of Rainbow Gem Stickers. I stamped the paint palette from the new Schoolhouse Messages stamp set and colored the ovals in matching colors to the gems that I then placed on top. I used my ZIGs to color the palette and the brush. The gray panel is the new Gravel card stock. I stamped the sentiment from the new Bold Messages set with black pigment ink. The white panel in back was embossed with the new Cascading Hearts Embossing Folder

This fifth card was super simple and also features the new Rainbow Gem Sticker pack. I embossed a piece of white card stock with the new Diamond Pattern Embossing Folder and then added the larger gems from the pack to fill in the pattern. I white heat embossed the sentiment from the new Everyday Greetings stamp set onto Matte Gold Card stock, which is also what I used as the base for the card.

My final card is my favorite and features the new Schoolhouse Messages stamp set and matching die set. I also used some of the new card stock from the Rainbow Splash line – white, Caramel, Grass, Ballet and Lake. The black enamel elements on the crayons are from Altenew. I am hoping to have a video up soon showing how I made this cute card!
