Hello, friends! I am thrilled to be joining Alex Syberia Designs for their Christmas in July blog hop and giveaway! Alex Syberia Designs is giving away two £15 gift cards to the Alex Syberia Designs store, as well as one full release bundle, valued at £366 ($400) in total!

This release has so many fun and unique offerings. As usual, I made quite a few cards, played around with quite a few color combinations, and even tried some new techniques. Let’s get started!

Note: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

My first card features several new products, but front and center are these adorable critters from the new Falala Friends Stamp Set.  I stamped them with alcohol friendly ink and then colored them with a combination of Copic and OLO markers. I cut them out with the matching dies. I also stamped and die cut a bunch of the musical notes and snowflakes from the stamp set. For my background, I used the fun Sunrays Hot Foil Plate from last month’s release. I love this plate! I foiled it with white opaque foil onto green card stock. I then cut the detail layer from the new Snowflake Layering Die set in both white and green card stock. I offset the two and glued them to my card panel. I then adhered my critters on top. My sentiment is the new Falala Die. I cut the shadow layer from white card stock, and the detail layer from glossy black card stock. To finish the card, I added a few highlights to the critters with a white gel pen

Because I can’t get enough of this adorable Falala Friends Stamp Set, I made a couple tags using the Signature Tags Die Set. For the background of one of the tags, I reached again for the Sunrays Hot Foil Plate. This time I used Skybright hot foil on white card stock, and then I colored it with the matching Sunrays Stencil Set. I used Twisted Citron, Salvaged Patina and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide Inks for my coloring. I love how versatile the stencil set is – you can use one of the stencils, all of the stencils, or any combination you want. After adhering the adorable ice-skating bunny to the tag, I added my sentiment, which comes from the new Christmas Sentiments Stamp Set. I white heat embossed it onto black card stock and then cut it out with the matching die

For the other tag, I used the new Elegant Stripes Hot Foil Plate. I foiled it with Teal foil onto white card stock. Because I wanted to color stripes in between the foiled lines, I had to figure out how to mask off the lines without pulling up the foil, as any tape or other material with adhesive would do. I used my new Waffle Flower grip mat and its carrier sheets to do this! For my sentiment, I again used the Falala Die set, but only the shadow layer. The word itself is hot foiled with the new Falala Hot Foil Plate and teal foil. I love how the Falala die set does double duty with the matching hot foil plate.

My next card uses the same Snowflake Layering Die that I used for my first card. I again used the detail layer of the die set and cut it from a silver satin metallic card stock. My background is an alcohol inked background that I created a month or so ago. When I use alcohol inks, I like to make a lot of backgrounds at once and then put them in my stash for a later time. I knew I was saving this one for a wintery theme, and these snowflakes were perfect! I finished the card with a sentiment from the Christmas Sentiments Stamp Set that I heat embossed with silver embossing powder. I just love the matching dies for this sentiment set because I was able to perfectly tuck it into that open space on my background. To finish the card, I added some pearl embellishments to the snowflakes. After testing out silver, white and blue pearls, I decided to use all three colors, since snowflakes are all supposed to be different. Right??

My last card (and tag) feature two more new products – the Sparkly Flakes Cover Die and the Jingle Bell Joy Die Set, both of which are gorgeous! The card also has the new Pretty Bows Die Set. There are two different sized bows which can be layered together or used on their own, like I did with the larger and smaller bells. Both the card and tag also have a sentiment from the same Christmas Sentiments Stamp Set that I used on some of my other cards. I’m not going to go into detail on how I made these cards because I have a video coming out in a couple days on my YouTube channel, and you’ll be able to see the really cool technique that I used to make the background!
