Hello, friends. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, and I hope your summer is off to a great start! I have some fun cards to share with you today using some new products from Spellbinders that were just released on the 10th. They are all quite different, except for the first two that I’m going to share. And that’s because I made a big mistake on one of them and had to pivot. You can see what happened in my YouTube video below. You can also go directly to YouTube to watch it.

Note: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

My first two cards use the adorable new stamp called “Bouquet for You.” This is a cling rubber stamp that is part of the cutest collection from House-Mouse Designs. I used my Distress Inks to watercolor the image. The card above was actually my second attempt, and I love how it turned out. The stamp really does most of the work here. I used the following colors for this card: Tattered Rose, Antique Linen, Weathered Wood, Pumice Stone, Saltwater Taffy, Worn Lipstick, Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron, Rustic Wilderness, and Fossilized Amber. The sentiment is from my stash – I believe it was from an older Mama Elephant stamp set.

My second card was actually my first attempt. It features the same mouse, and it actually looked the same as the first card…UNTIL the dreaded mistake (see video). The only difference in the coloring, which you can’t even see in the final picture, is that I used Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, and Seedless Preserves for the flowers. Since the only part that I could salvage was a bit of the mouse and some of the stems, I decided to make him hold a different sort of bouquet. After fussy cutting him, I added some flowers from the Garden Builder die set. I embossed the panel with the new Floral & Vine 3D Embossing Folder. I used Fossilized Amber, Squeezed Lemonade, and Shabby Shutters – this time in Distress Oxides. The “friend” die comes from the Anemone Glimmer Blooms Hot Foil Plate and Die Set. The subsentiment is from the Reverse Family Sentiment Strips from Simon Says Stamp.

I created a separate card using the same Floral & Vine 3D Embossing Folder. This time I colored the embossed side of the panel. I used distress inks to color the raised pattern – Shabby shutters, Rustic Wilderness, Saltwater Taffy, Worn Lipstick, Fossilized Amber, and Squeezed Lemonade. I then put the panel back into the embossing folder, swiping the flat side with my Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide pad. It could have been Mustard Seed, though! I hot foiled the sentiment with matte gold foil

Another fun product that was just released by Spellbinders is the Essential Modern Ovals Die Set. These ovals have a very unique shape, and I have a lot of ideas for them (most of them are a bit out of the norm, of course). I first made this very mod looking card, where I just cut different colors of card stock from the different sized ovals and then stacked them. The sentiment is actually a brand new hot foil plate called “Glimmering All About You.” I used white opaque foil on green card stock.

I also used the new Modern Ovals for this card. This time, I made a reverse-stack of ovals and created a tank (or window) to contain the adorable jelly fish that are part of the June Small Die of the Month kit. I made the background using the new Tiny Dots Embossing Folder, which is one of those staples that I’m thrilled to have in my stash now. I embossed a blue piece of paper and then swiped white pigment ink on the embossed side. Because it’s not a 3D folder, some of the ink got on the part that was not embossed, but it ended up creating the look of bubbles. At least, they look like bubbles to me. Smudged bubbles, anyway. I added a piece of clear packaging (similar to acetate) behind my stack of oval openings in order to create the look of a window. I did not add any shaker bits, so this is more of a faux shaker card. I did glue some clear drops to the background, so those kind  of mimic the idea of shaker bits.

I hope these cards put a smile on your face today. Leave me a comment and let me know which one is your favorite! And be sure to head over to YouTube to watch my video. I hope to see you there!

Wishing you all a crafty day,

Allison
