Hello, crafty friends! I am excited to be participating in the kickoff of the Pretty Pink Posh May release! We are celebrating with a video hop over on YouTube (see more info below). This release is so fun – full of the cutest little bugs and lots of bees! As always, there are dies, stencils, stamps and new shaker bits. My card today is the result of a really fun shimmer powder technique and features the following products from the release:

I started my card with the Honeycomb Stencil. I have been wanting to use shimmer powders with a stencil again, after only trying it once before, and this stencil is perfect for the technique! I used Lindy’s Gang Magicals shimmer powders. I was able to achieve really crisp, clean lines by using Pixie Spray on the back of my stencil. I also ran a brayer over it to make sure it had really good contact with the textured watercolor paper. Once my panel was finished and dry, I used one of the new Eyelet Hexagons to cut three hexagons.
The adorable bee comes from the Stitched Bugs Dies, and I also colored him with shimmer powders. I used a mix of Lindy’s Gang and Nuvo shimmer powders. The Hello sentiment is from the Large Hello Shadow set. I cut it from black shimmer card stock and adhered it to my card panel without the shadow layer. The card panel is the same watercolor paper that I used for all of my card elements, and it is 4.75″ x 6″. I finished the card with some sparkling clear sequins.
