Hello, friends! I hope you’re having a great weekend. Today, I am sharing some playful mashups and inspiration featuring April collections from Spellbinders. I have paired some of the cuties from my new Summer Camp Collection with other April releases for some fun combinations. I also found a lot of ideas for cards by looking through my collection of patterned paper and older Spellbinders products. The ideas are never ending! And while I have been busy making cards, it has been hard to get some videos together, but I do FINALLY have a new video to share today, as well. Yay!
The other April collections that I am featuring today are:
SPRING WAREHOUSE SALE

If you live outside of the United States/North America, you might want to head over to the Spellbinders UK website.

This fun summer card features the raccoon from the Trailside Trio set. I gave her a fun pinwheel, which is from last month’s Pink Lemonade Stand Tags set. The panel is made with my new favorite “rectangle” set, the Playful Stitched Panels. I used new patterned paper from Rosie’s Studio Jubilee 6 x 6 Paper Pad. The “Hello Summer” sentiment is from my new Trails End die set.
For the clothes on the raccoon, I used the bathing suit from the Splash Days set and used it as a tank top. The shorts are from the Camp Days set. The little button on the shorts is actually the little tiny circle that pops out of the raccoon’s eye!

I really dove into my stash for this one! The mailbox is from the older Parcel & Post Mailbox. I dressed up the skunk as a mail carrier thanks to the little cap and satchel from last April’s Small Die of the Month called Snail Mail Post. This die set is still available on the Spellbinders website to anyone, not just club members. The little letter is from that set as well. The tank top was made with the swimsuit from the Splash Days set, and the shorts are from the Camp Days set. I used Nested Postage Labels & Tag set to create the card panels and reinforce the postage theme of the card. The “Hello, Friend” sentiment is from an old MFT stamp set – I just thought it fit the space well. I love how this turned out! Seriously, I could keep sifting through old club kits and find more things to use with these critters, but at some point I will have to force myself to stop!

Here is a fun and easy card featuring the fawn from the Woodland Trio set. I found some patterned paper in my stash from Doodlebug that has a bunch of cute summery sentiments on it, so I didn’t feel the need to add any other sentiments. I used one of the dies from the Playful Stitched Panels to create a little towel for the fawn to lay on. She is catching some rays, which is why she is wearing some sunglasses! These are from the Smart Glasses Die Set, which has eight different pairs of glasses to choose from. She is also wearing the bathing suit from the Splash Days set.

This fun graduation card was made with the hedgehog from the Woodland Trio set. I had been hoping that the graduation cap from the new Classic Mouse Graduation set would fit my critters, and it fit perfectly! I also used the diploma and the “honor cord” to put around her neck from that set. This card is for my niece, who is graduating at the top of her class from college next month. I used her school colors, and she also has a LOT of long curly hair, so this hedgie is perfect! The sentiment and the numbers are from the Classic Mouse Graduation Sentiments Press + Foil Plate & Die. I added all of it to a fun shaped card featuring the Color Block Accent Arches. This was an add-on to last month’s Just Add Cake Collection and was very popular, so it is currently sold out. You can click the “Notify Me” button on the product page for when it comes back in stock. These work with the Essential Arches set, and I used the largest arch in that set to create the shaped card.

This fun birthday card features the fox from the Trailside Trio set. I used the new Layered Happy Birthday sentiment, which comes with a shadow die that I didn’t use. This collection includes eight new sentiment dies! I will be sharing more of those soon. I ink blended my fox, and I think he turned out really cute! I had been using colored card stock for most of my other critters up until now. I also ink blended the balloons, which comes from an older set called Color Block Balloons. This balloon set is currently only $10 in the Spring Warehouse Sale! To add a bit more whimsy, I added a few small clouds from the Swinging Among the Stars set.

This cute card was super easy to pull together thanks to the Carta Bella National Parks 12 x 12 Collection. I used the Rocky Mountain National Park postcard image because that is the park that is 45 minutes away from where I live. This card was made for my friend who just moved here. She is an avid hiker and loves getting to all the National Parks, both here and abroad. The squirrel is from the Woodland Trio set. The clothes/backpack are from the Camp Days set, other than the tank top, which is actually the swimsuit from the Splash Days set. This is a shaped card that I made using the Nested Postage Labels & Tag Die Set. I did use the largest die from the set and made the panel even longer by using partial die cutting. I wanted to get as much height as I could in order to fit that postcard scene.

I had to include this fun little mashup featuring the skunk from the Trailside Trio set. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the critters’ heads fit on the slippers from the Cozy Toes Slippers set. I used a sentiment from my new Summertime Sentiments set, and it fits the vibe of this card perfectly! The patterned paper on the pajamas is from the Doodlebug Hello Again 6×6 Inch Paper Pad. I have been using some smaller flower prints from this pad to make bathing suits and tank tops for my critters! The embossed background is from the folder “Spring Stripes“, which was the February Embossing Folder of the Month but is now available on the Spellbinders website to non club members.
I hope these cards bring a smile to your face today. As always, I appreciate you visiting my blog.
Wishing you all a crafty day,
Allison
