Hello, crafty friends! I am excited to be participating in a blog hop today with Altenew. Altenew is currently collecting cards for their Celebrating Parents Card Drive, which is a wonderful way to use your creative talents to bring joy and comfort to seniors in nursing homes and shelters. Altenew will be collecting handmade cards between March 6th to April 17th. For more details on the Card Drive, click here. As part of this blog hop, Altenew is giving away $200 in total prizes – see details below. My card today features the Build-A-Garden: Sulfur Cosmos and the Essential Textures: Delightfully Dotty Press Plate.

Donations: Another way that Altenew will be supporting seniors in need is through direct donations. Altenew will be donating $1 with every order from their Floral Stamps collection from 3/6/2026 until 4/17/2026 to the Food Bank of Central New York to support seniors in need.

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

I started my card for today with the Build-A-Garden: Sulfur Cosmos. I used the matching die to first cut a piece of white card stock and then stamped the image onto the die cut piece with black pigment ink. I find it so much easier to do it this way to ensure that things line up properly. Once the image was stamped, I colored the florals with the matching stencil set. I went a little bit outside my wheelhouse for this one because I don’t normally use purples. I’m so glad that I did! I used the purples from the Enchanted Garden Fresh Dye Ink set. For the stems and leaves, I used the Green Fields Fresh Dye Ink set. And for the center of the flowers, I used the Warm & Cozy Fresh Dye Ink set.

Next, I took the Essential Textures: Delightfully Dotty Press Plate and some black pigment ink and “stamped” a piece of muted lavender card stock with my BetterPress system. I played around with the orientation of the Sulfur Cosmos on my card base, and once I was happy with that, I cut down the dotted lavender panel so that it only covered part of the card base. This way, part of the florals are overlapping the dotted panel and part of them are overlapping the white card base. I love the look that this achieved! Note that my card base is 4.25″ x 5.5″ (A2), but that a little bit of the florals hang off on each side. This is no problem, as the card can easily be mailed in an A6 envelope.

For the sentiment, I chose the “we love you” from the Classic Greetings stamp set. I stamped it with black pigment ink and used the matching die. I think this card is just perfect for Mother’s Day.
