Hello, friends! I am excited to be sharing some cards that I have made with the new Moments in Time Release from Simon Says Stamp. This is a really fun release that has everything from cute stamps to beautiful floral dies and embossing folders.
Note: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.
My first card features three new products from the release: the Tattered Daisy Die, the Floral Bunches Embossing Folder and the Swiss Dots Stamp Set. I stamped white cardstock with the Swiss Dots in black ink and then cut the Tattered Daisy from it. I love how this flower looks with the polka dots! I used the Floral Bunches folder to emboss a piece of black cardstock. I mounted that to a card base and then covered roughly an inch of it with a yellow strip of paper. I added my daisy right along the border of the yellow and black paper. The sentiment comes from the Hi There Greetings Stamp and Die set.
My second card also features the Tattered Daisy Die and the Swiss Dots Stamp Set. I used the polka dots again on the flower, but this time only on the top layer and the center. I also used it on the white panel, but I stamped it through the SSS Brush Strokes Stencil to get the irregular look that you see. I cut that white panel with one of the dies from the A2 Rectangles Die Set that came out last month. The black mat around that panel was cut from the “More A2 Rectangles” set, which is part of this release. By having the additional rectangles, you can achieve this very thin mat around your panels.
The sentiment is the new Giggle Happy Birthday Die. The pretty background is patterned paper from the Craft Consortium Grunge Light Tones 6 x 6 Paper Pad. I did darken up the edges of the paper a bit with some Black Soot Distress Ink.
My last card features the cute new Birthday Dragons Stamp Set. I stamped my favorite dragon from the set, colored him with my Copic markers, and then fussy cut him. My card panel features another piece of patterned paper from the Craft Consortium Grunge Light Tones 6 x 6 Paper Pad. I used the Swiss Dots to add some subtle texture to that paper, using blue ink at the top and green ink towards the bottom to match the colors in the paper. The white panel on top of that is the result of a shimmer powder session a few months ago. Believe it or not, but this is the BACK of a shimmer powder background that I didn’t like. Sometimes when you’re playing with shimmer powders, you make a mess and some of it gets on the back of your paper. And sometimes that’s a happy accident when it creates something that looks like this! I again used the A2 Rectangles Die Set for this, and then the yellow mat was made with the new “More A2 Rectangles.”
My sentiments are some of the Reverse Sentiment Strips from Simon. I finished the card with a a few sequins and some Glossy Accents on the balloons.
I hope these cards bring a smile to your face. Thank you so much for visiting my blog today. Be sure to visit Simon’s website to check out the entire Moments in Time Release.
Wishing you all a crafty day,
Allison

These are great, Allison! I love the “tight” color scheme of card #1 and the adorable dragon of card #3. All the cards are terrific!!
