Hello, friends! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I am excited to be sharing some cards today featuring the new Quilted Hugs Release from Waffle Flower! As always, they have knocked it out of the park with this fun, cohesive collection perfect for people who love sewing or quilting. Don’t like sewing? There’s much more to this release, especially if you love texture! There are a bunch of new cover dies in this collection that add wonderful texture to backgrounds. There are stencils specifically made to coordinate with some of these dies, but they can also be used on their own. I’m just really loving all of the options.
Free Gift:
Waffle Flower is offering a free gift – or TWO! If you purchase over $25 from the Quilted Hugs Release, you will get the Postage Collage Circle Sentiments Matching Die. If you purchase $75 or more from the Quilted Hugs Release, you will get both the Postage Collage Circle Sentiments Stamp Set and the matching die. NOTE: In order to receive the free gift(s), make sure to ADD the product(s) to your cart and then apply code “G2505A” during checkout (for the die) or code “G2505B” (for both the stamp and die). By the way, I used the stamp set on my first card and the die on the second card, so you can definitely use them independently.
Extra Savings:
If this is your first time ordering from Waffle Flower, and you use my links, you should receive an additional 10% savings!
Let’s get to my projects for today, which feature (among others) the following main products from the new release:
- Postage Collage Sew Fun Stencil
- Sew Fun Die
- Tiny Square Texture Die
- Tiny Square Stencil
- Quilted Frames Die
I do have a new video showing how I made my projects today. You can CLICK HERE to watch on YouTube, or you can view below.
NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.
My first card features the new Postage Collage Sew Fun Stencil. This coordinates with the original A2 Postage Collage Die. You can watch how this stenciled design comes together in my video. I used a combination of Pinkfresh Studio inks, and then I “aged” the finished design with some Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I added some fun postage collage stamp accents, including some from the new Postage Collage Sew Fun Stamp Set. The sentiments come from the new Subsentiment Quilted Diecut. The cute little dies that I added to the panel are from the Sew Fun Die set. Here are the colors of ink that I used for this card:
- Warm Buff
- Misty Coast
- Rocky Slope
- Cherry Blossom
- Peony
- Mint
- Meadow
It’s hard to appreciate the texture from the Cross-hatch Texture Die on this card because I used it on the front of the card base. But that’s one of the great things about these new piercing cover dies in the collection – they don’t have cut lines. So, they’re not going to cut the panel. They’re just going to add the piercing. I love these kinds of dies for adding texture to backgrounds. It makes all the difference in a card design.
Free Downloads:
I shared this last month but wanted to share it again. Waffle Flower is now offering some free downloads that are associated with the popular Postage Collage⢠Collection! The first is the Postage Collage Idea Sheets. These idea sheets show all the different themed stencils with samples and suggested ink colors. The second is the Postage Collage Checklist, which helps navigate all of the different product offerings in the collection. They are free to download, and I think these are a great idea.
As the name of this collection implies, there are many products with a sewing/quilting theme. One of those is the Sew Fun Die set. I used some of the smaller elements on both of my cards, but this second card features the “star” of the set – the sewing machine. It also features the new Tiny Square Texture Die. This die is really cool because they created several different stencil sets (five, to be exact) to coordinate with it. These stencils create some classic quilting patterns. My favorite of those is the Tiny Square Stencil, which you see on this card. The frame around this panel is the new Quilted Frames Die.
I shared the stenciling of this panel in today’s video, but I will be sharing more of the assembly in a future post, along with many of the other products and “works in progress” that I shared in the video.
That is it for my cards today. I hope they bring a smile to your face. As always, I appreciate you visiting my blog.
Wishing you all a crafty day,
Allison
