Hello, friends! I am beyond excited to be sharing the first round of cards that I have made with the new Say Cheese Classic Pooh Collection from Spellbinders. This is a collaboration with Simple Stories, so I will be sharing more projects later in the month using some of their products from the collection. To say that I had fun making these cards is an understatement. I sure hope they bring a smile to your face.

I used the following products from the new collection for these cards:

I do have a new video showing how I made these cards. You can CLICK HERE to watch on YouTube, or you can view below.

NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

My first three cards have a very similar feel. I was really going for that old, aged storybook look. This first card features one of the Friendly Moments Press Plates. I hot foiled the plate on acetate with black foil. It foils so perfectly and beautifully on the acetate! I cut a piece of white paper with a die from the Perfect Touch Rectangles set and then ink blended it with Antique Linen and Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I then attached my acetate overlay with a ribbon. The card base is a woodgrain paper that I ink blended with several different inks to achieve an aged look. The inks I used were Waterfall and Summer Shower from Pinkfresh Studio, as well as Black Soot Distress Ink. I heat embossed the sentiment with some off-white embossing powder. This color powder is great for when you don’t have any bright white on your card. The sentiment is from the Silly Old Bear Sentiments Press Plate & Die Set. Be sure to watch the video to see how I heat emboss using the BetterPress system!

My second card also features one of the Friendly Moments Press Plates. I love that there are two different plates in this set! This time, I hot foiled the acetate with matte gold foil. I chose a really beautiful paper from Your Paper Insider to place under my acetate overlay. It is from Box 8 and has a gorgeous linen texture. If it’s not obvious, my obsession with specialty papers continues! I again added ink blending around the edges to achieve that aged look. I used Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, and Scorched Timber. I used the same sentiment set and process as the first card to heat emboss my sentiment. It’s so nice having matching dies! I had to use this particular sentiment because Christopher Robin is looking down at Pooh, and I can just hear him saying that!

My third card features the adorable Pooh & Friends Silhouette die. This time I went all out on the aging process, including a lot of splatter! For the main panel, I used Waterfall and Turquoise inks from Pinkfresh Studio. I added in Vintage Photo and Scorched Timber Distress Inks. For the silhouette piece, I used Antique Linen, Vintage Photo and Scorched Timber Distress Inks. I created the mini slimline panel using the same Perfect Touch Rectangle plate as the first card. I just did some partial die cutting in order to make it longer. The card base features the same woodgrain paper as the card base on the first card. I ink blended it with brown inks to make it darker. I love how it turned out!

Let’s move on to some colorful cards now! This one features the Pooh & Friends Silhouette die again, but this time it’s a one layer card! I used the die to cut masking paper. I then laid the masking paper silhouette onto some Bristol Smooth card stock and ink blended my rainbow of Distress Oxide colors. I used Kitsch Flamingo, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron and Broken China. Lifting the masking paper off and revealing this magical scene was so satisfying! The sweet sentiment comes from the All Seasons Sentiments stamp set, which I stamped with black pigment ink. I was so close to a one layer card, but I just had to add some cute dew drops!

Finally, here is the card that I dreamed up as soon as I saw this collection. I wasn’t sure that it was going to work until I got the dies in front of me and played around with the layout. This features the Pooh & Piglet set and the Pooh’s Hunny Pot set. And, I am absolutely in LOVE with this adorable alphabet set! I am so happy to have this classic sentiment on one of my cards – it’s so “Pooh”, right??

I hope these cards bring a smile to your face today. Leave a comment and let me know which one is your favorite. Do you like the aged, storybook look or do you like the fun, colorful look? There will definitely be more fun and colorful ones coming your way later this month! As always, I appreciate you visiting my blog today.

Wishing you all a crafty day,

Allison
