Hello, friends! I hope you are all doing well. I am excited to be sharing some new products from the Simon Says Stamp Festive Fun Release! The name of this release pretty much says it all! There are too many fun things to list, but there are also some really beautiful products and some new inks.
I am sharing four of the new products from the release. The new products that I am featuring today are:
- Stained Glass Christmas Stamp Set
- Scripty Peace Die
- Holiday Baking Essentials Die Set
- Falling Snowflakes Foil Transfer Cards
NOTE: all supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.
My first card features the beautiful Stained Glass Christmas stamp set. You might recognize this stamp set as being part of a recent card kit from Simon. And now it’s being sold separately! I stamped and heat embossed one of the angels with gold embossing powder onto watercolor paper. I then lightly colored the angel with my ZIG markers, which I haven’t used in awhile. I used the following colors: 050, 051, 052, 074, 076, 026, 202, 303.
Once I finished coloring, I trimmed my panel down and then heat embossed the “on earth” sentiment at the bottom. This sentiment comes from the Simple Holiday Greetings Stamp Set, and I did partial stamping to eliminate the “peace” part of the stamp. That is because I wanted to use this new Scripty Peace die as the main sentiment. I love the beautiful font. die cut the word from gold card stock and glued it onto my panel. I used the same gold paper to create a border for my watercolor paper. I then added the finished piece to an A2 card base with foam tape.
For my second card, I am featuring the new Holiday Baking Essentials Die Set. This is an adorable die set, especially for someone who loves baking as much as I do. I definitely don’t spend as much time doing that as I used to, but I do still enjoy it. I used to make and decorate hundreds of cookies to gift to my friends and family for the holidays! Now that I make cards, it’s fun to combine the two. For this card, I die cut my elements out of white and Kraft card stock. It’s hard to tell from the picture, but the tips of the icing bags are silver metallic paper. For the Kraft elements, I inked up the edges with some Vintage Photo Distress Ink. For the gingerbread men, I used a black pen and white gel pen to add details. Otherwise, I left everything pretty clean and simple. The other star of this card is the fun paper from Tim Holtz. This is from the 2024 Christmas Backdrops pack, and it looks just like a dish towel. It even has stains, although I did choose the part of the paper that had less stains. But you can see them on my card here and there. That’s not me getting brown ink on the card!
To finish up this card, I chose some fun sentiments from the CZ Design Noted Holiday stamp set that came out last year. I stamped these with Kraft colored ink, trimmed them down, and then mounted them on slightly larger red strips.
My next card features the Scripty Peace Die die again. This time, I paired it with one of my favorite stamp sets from last year called Fresh Air Holiday Tree. There are three layering stamps for this tree, and I used Pinkfresh Studio inks in the following colors: Ocean Breeze, Aquamarine, and Paradise. I then heat embossed the snowflake layer with white embossing powder. For the peace die, I cut it from teal glitter paper and then offset it on top of two white layers in order to create a drop shadow effect. This die does come with an outline layer. I just didn’t want to cover up too much of that beautiful tree! This would be a really easy card to mass produce.
My last card features the new Falling Snowflakes Foil Transfer Cards. These cards are white with black toner so that you can foil them in a laminator or foiling machine. I just loved the bold crisp look of the black snowflakes so much, that I kept this card panel as is. There are a lot of small black circles/dots on this panel. Wherever those were, I covered them with a colored enamel dot. I have a LOT of enamel dots in my stash, most of which are from Altenew. I decided to try something different with my design, so I took out a nested oval die set and did some partial die cutting to have a curve at the bottom of my panel. I then took the same oval die and created a black curved “band” to stamp my sentiment. The sentiment comes from the Fresh Air Holiday Tree stamp set that I used on the card above, and it is actually a curved sentiment. I mounted this all onto my favorite color card base, and…we’re done!
I hope these cards bring a smile to your face today. As always, I appreciate you visiting my blog. Leave a comment and let me know which card is your favorite! Be sure to check out the entire Festive Fun Release on the Simon Says Stamp website! Wishing you all a crafty day,
Allison
