Hello, friends! I hope you are all doing well. I’m a little late to the party, but I am back and ready to celebrate the new Sunny Vibes Release from Simon Says Stamp! Life gave my family an unexpected turn last week, but we are slowly finding our way back to normal, which includes me finding my way back into the craft room.

I am sharing four of the new products from the release, along with ways to use one of my favorite tools – a nesting circle die set. The new products that I am featuring today are:

I have a new video showing how I made both of my cards. You can CLICK HERE to watch it on YouTube, or you can watch it below.

NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

My first card features the new Around The World Stamp Set and the new Earth Die. For both cards, I used circle dies from one of the oldest sets in my stash – the Circle Infinity Die Set from Hero Arts. I do find that it is useful to have other circles in my stash, especially because the largest die in this set is 4.5″. If I wanted to make a round shaped card, I usually want larger circles. The SSS Nested Circles Die Set is a great set for that because the largest die is 5.5″.

For this first card, I used two circle dies to essentially create a channel for a slider element. The smaller circle features the Earth Die itself. The slider element is one of the adorable airplanes from the Around The World set. Definitely watch the video to see what this slider element looks like in action – it is so fun to see the plane zooming around the earth!

For my second card, I am featuring the new Gentle Layers Floral Wreath and the Sunshine and Smiles Stamp Set. This card is surprisingly simple but couldn’t be achieved without a circle die. The stamped sentiment is actually stamped on the inside of the card. All I had to do was find a circle die that was roughly the size of the opening in the center of the wreath.

I hope these cards bring a smile to your face today. As always, I appreciate you visiting my blog. Leave a comment and let me know which card is your favorite! Wishing you all a crafty day,

Allison

  1. Love both of your colorful cards but the across the miles card is my favorite. So much fun to watch the airplane “fly” around the globe. With all my family and many of my friends living quite a distance from me, I may have to “steal” this clever idea and make some globe cards for them. Thanks for the inspiration and the helpful video!

    1. Thank you, Michele! I have to admit that I didn’t think that card was going to be as easy as it was, and it was fun for me to see it in action on my first attempt!

  2. I really like both of these, esp the “sending you smiles” card with the globe / plane. The floral card is also beautiful!
