Hello, friends! I am excited to share my first set of cards using the April 2024 Spellbinders Monthly Clubs!  This month’s kits have a sewing/embroidery theme, and there is a lot of fun to be had! Even if you don’t sew or stitch or any of that, I bet you have friends who do! I used to sew when I was much younger, since back then my mom had her own sewing room, not a craft room! She sewed everything, including many of my clothes. These days, the extent of my sewing is fixing holes in stuffed animals for my dogs or the occasional hole in something else. I do enjoy stitching cards with embroidery floss once in awhile. But even though it’s not my “thing,” I have plenty of friends who I can send these cards to. So, I am really enjoying this month’s theme.

I will mostly be using the Large Die of the Month kit on my cards, although I do use one of the many word dies that come in the Small Die of the Month . I do show several of the kits in my new video, and you’ll see me assemble the embroidery floss that comes in the Small Die kit, which you can see in the picture above.

One of my favorite aspects of the Spellbinders clubs is that you can cancel at any time. If you don’t like the club kit next month, just cancel it! The subscription window for new members ends on the 27th of the month, assuming that the club kit(s) has not already sold out.

There is a new club for 2024 called the Deluxe Caboodle Value Club. This club is offered at an exceptional value and includes all ten clubs PLUS a bonus item. For April, the bonus item is the “Pins & Needles Sentiments Die Set”. It is only available to members of this Deluxe Club. I do use one of the sentiments from this die set on one of my cards today.

SPELLBINDERS SALE!

Spellbinders is currently having a sale where you save $25 off your $125 purchase! The sale goes through 04/11/2024 11:59 PM PST. Note that this sale does not include club memberships. This is a great sale to stock up on things like Spellbinders card stock, which isn’t normally included in their other sales. They have amazing card stock, including new glitter card stock which I have been meaning to share but haven’t had a chance yet. Did you know that Spellbinders also carries patterned paper from companies like Doodlebug and Paper Rose?

Let’s get to the cards that I made! I have a new video sharing the process for each card. You can CLICK HERE to view on YouTube or watch it below.

Note: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

For my first card, I decided to “sew” a wreath using some of the fun accessories from the Large Die of the Month, which is called “Pins & Needles Jar.” I also used dies from the kit to make the foliage for the wreath. The banner sentiment is the freebie that I mentioned above, which comes with the Deluxe Caboodle Value Club membership. I used the Loops Embossing Folder for the background, which I think ties in perfectly with the theme!

For my second card, I made a fun shaker using the jar shape from the Large Die of the Month. I used real buttons for my shaker bits! I created a label for the jar using one of the word dies from the Small Die of the Month, which is called “Faux Stitched Sentiments & Floss.”

I hope these cards put a smile on your face today. They were a lot of fun to make, and I still have more ideas planned. As always, I appreciate you visiting my blog.

Wishing you all a crafty day,

Allison

  1. Really love these cards and your color choices. The wreath in particular is so clever and creative. Would never have figured out how you made it but for the great video. The use of real buttons for the shaker card was pretty clever, too. Thanks for the inspiration!
