Making the Card

I have had this idea for a card for weeks now, but I didn’t have all of the supplies to make it until recently. I tell myself I don’t need something, and then I tell myself again at least twenty times. And then when I finally decide to go against my better self, it’s out of stock. First world problems, right??

For the most part, this card is pretty self explanatory – it’s just a lot of die cutting and picking little dies from several different sets to create the scene. The little ornaments come from the newly released Merry Flourish die set. This set has two ornament toppers, one of which has a slit in the hook. I think that’s pretty clever, and that is the one that I used for today’s card. It allowed me to just hook the ornaments right onto the “string” that comes from the More Holiday Decorations die set. The foliage and candy come from the Parcel & Post Christmas Decorations set.

I am crazy about this mailbox. There are just so many occasions for which it can be used. I will definitely be making something similar to send to my son next summer while he’s at camp! This particular Christmas card is for my husband. He loves our dogs, and this pup kind of looks like them.  I thought this hot foiled sentiment was just so perfect for pairing with the dog. I hot foiled it with Cobalt Blue foil. Everything is mounted with glue and/or foam tape onto this green card base that I embossed with the new Ski Lodge embossing folder. I think I mentioned in a previous blog post that I wanted to get this embossing folder. Surprise – I bought it!

That’s it for my card today. I hope it makes you smile and even giggle a little bit! Thanks so much for visiting my blog – I always appreciate you stopping by.

Wishing you all a crafty day,

Allison
