Hello, friends! I posted a few Halloween cards last week using some new paper from The Stamp Market and had mentioned that the new paper pack would be great for occasions other than Halloween. So here I am with a baby card, of all things! I just loved this tiny pumpkin print and decided it would be great to pair with the new Pumpkin Patch die set from Sunny Studio. Our neighbors just had a baby – their second girl. So, I made a little family of pumpkins. I love these pumpkins so much that I made a second card with them while I had my supplies out.

Making the First Card

I trimmed the pumpkin paper from the Oct 31 4evr paper pack to slightly smaller than 4″x5.25″ and adhered it to a slightly larger piece of orange card stock. I mounted this onto a Kraft A2 card base. I then cut the pieces for my pumpkins from colored card stock. There are four pieces for each pumpkin, although you don’t have to layer them – you could just use the base layer. There are 19 dies in this set, including leaves and dies that make jack-o-lantern faces. It really is a lot of fun. For each of my pumpkins, I ink blended the edges of each piece with a similar color of Distress Ink. This gives the layers an added look of dimension. I used Carved Pumpkin, Spun Sugar, Milled Lavender, and Fossilized Amber. I then splattered the same colors of ink on the pumpkins by swiping the ink pad on my glass mat, spritzing it with water, and splattering with a wet paintbrush. For the baby pumpkin, I added a gold and white bow that I cut from the Twine & Bows die set

I adhered the pumpkins to the card base, some with glue and some with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment from the Itty Bitty Boos stamp set with VersaMark ink and white heat embossed it on brown card stock. I love this stamp set, but it appears to be retired – boo!! It is still available from some online resellers – I have linked one of my favorites above in the supply list. I cut the Welcome die with gold card stock and brown card stock and offset them to create a shadow. I also stacked them onto two more layers that I had cut from white card stock just to make sure that it stood out from the background.

Making the Second Card

I colored and assembled my pumpkins the same way I did for the first card, using Speckled Egg Distress Ink for the blue pumpkin. I also cut some leaves from the set and distressed all of the edges with the Gathered Twigs ink. For the background, I used a piece of Kraft card stock and the Stitched Vines Card Front Die. I also blended some of the Gathered Twigs around the edges of this panel before adhering it to a white card base. I cut the “thankful” shadow from white card stock and the word itself from a subtle metallic brown paper. To finish the card, I scattered some gold jewels from my stash.

That’s it for my cards today. I absolutely love them, and I hope they put a smile on your face! Leave a comment and let me know which one is your favorite.  Thank you so much for visiting me today – I appreciate you all!

Wishing you all a crafty day,

Allison
