Hello, crafty friends! I hope you have been doing well. I am back from a long weekend full of hiking, friends, and some one on one time with my youngest. Now that I am rejuvenated (theoretically), it’s time to hit the craft room again! Today, I have two beautiful floral cards that use a monochromatic color scheme. I love monochromatic cards, although I don’t do them often enough myself. I think after having done these, I will definitely do it more often. Both cards feature a new stencil from the Altenew February 2026 collection – the Paper Echoes Stencil. I love scripty backgrounds. I find they give just the perfect amount of texture, especially when you have florals as the focal point. For my florals today, I am using the Creative Cuts: Houseplants and the Build-A-Garden: Sulfur Cosmos.
I do have a new YouTube video today. You can CLICK HERE to view it on YouTube, or you can view it below.
NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

For my first card, I started with a yellow piece of card stock and stenciled a portion of it with the Paper Echoes Stencil and Mayan Gold Shimmer Relief Paste. I cut all of the floral pieces from white card stock and then colored them using inks from the Sun-Kissed Delights Fresh Dye Ink set. These are my favorite yellow inks, and they work perfectly for this monochromatic scheme with the yellow card stock. Make sure to check out the video to see how I added dimension to these flowers. It’s not from foam tape! I did leave parts of the white card stock showing on all of the flowers and leaves. The white ties in to the white splatter that I added over the stenciled area. On some of the flowers and leaves, I added a bit of the shimmer paste to the edges, just to give that subtle shine. Of course, it’s hard to see it in a photo!
The sentiment comes from the Build-A-Garden: Dreamy Dahlias set. I wanted a simple font that wouldn’t compete with the script in the stencil. I stamped it with Golden Honeycomb ink on white card stock – again, tying in that touch of white.

I shared this second card on my Instagram page last week but wanted to share the details in this blog post, since it uses the same stencil and also features a mostly monochromatic look. I did a tone on tone look with the stencil on the background panel, but this time I just used ink instead of paste. The blue inks on this card, including the one I used for the stencil are from the Cool Summer Night Fresh Dye Ink set. I just love these colors, and I love using nontraditional colors for florals. And speaking of florals, these are the Build-A-Garden: Sulfur Cosmos. Aren’t they gorgeous?? I did pull in some greens on this card, so it’s not exactly a true monochromatic scheme, but it’s close enough. The greens are from the Mediterranean Glow Fresh Dye Ink set. These are a yellow-green, and I love these, as well! I added some Antique Gold Stellar Sequins as the center of the flowers, and they really take on that yellow-green tone. By the way, I stamped the entire floral image with Olove ink instead of using something more predictable like black. The hello sentiment comes from the Timeless Sentiments Die Set.
I love how both of these cards turned out, and I hope they bring a smile to your face today. As always, I appreciate you visiting my blog.
Wishing you all a crafty day,
Allison
