Hello, friends and happy weekend! I hope you are all doing well. Today is release day for Spellbinders, and while it’s always difficult to choose which collection to share first, this month was an easy choice. The This is Life collection is so fun, and it frankly resonates with me in so many ways! I am also sharing the Large Die of the Month for January because I didn’t have a chance to put together a video like I normally do for clubs. This goes along with what I was saying about relating to the “This is Life” collection so well! There are, of course, plenty of other collections this month that all have their own look and feel. You’ll see a little intro to the Say Cheese Classic Pooh Baby collection at the end of today’s video. I will be sharing the cards that I create with that, along with several other collections, in upcoming, separate videos. To see all of the January collections, CLICK HERE.

My first card features the incredibly fun Dumpster Fire Stamp and Die Set. This die set comes with its own set of sentiment stamps, which I think is such a great idea. In fact, all of the die sets in this collection come with a set of stamps. This dumpster is so easy to put together. Frankly, the hardest part of this card was having to choose which sentiment to use! Other contenders for the sentiment included “Certified Hot Mess” and “Slightly On Fire But Absolutely Killing It.” After I was finished with this card and even after photographing it, I decided to go back and put this guy on an action wobble. You can see that in the video. If ever there was a die that belonged on an action wobble, this is it!

Another set that I absolutely love is the Favorite Side Effect Stamp & Die Set. You’ll notice on these first two cards that I gave them bold and graphic looks using high contrast. This is super easy to accomplish by just having two different colors of card stock for your background. Using colored card stock for your die cuts (versus ink blending) also helps add to that clean, graphic look. I also used the Ugh Stamp & Die Set for this card. I offset some black glossy card stock on top of white to create the faux drop shadow effect.

My next card features the Born to Dink Stamp & Die Set. The die set lets you create two different designs for your pickleball paddle, but I chose the sweet flower for my paddle. By the way, I may have referred to it as a racket in my video – that is because I grew up playing tennis! I went with diagonal stripes for this card, using the net as the white stripe.

The Large Die of the Month is called “Hummingbirds Delight,” and it is so sweet! There is a second hummingbird that faces the opposite direction, and there is also a large flower that I didn’t include on my card. The sentiment on the top comes from the The Clear Stamp & Die of the Month Club, called “Best Year Sentiments.” The combination of print and script fonts in some of the sentiments in this set reminded me of the Spread Your Wings Sentiments from the Cheerful Chirps collection from last year. So, I used a sentiment from that set on the bottom (the happy birthday).
I hope these cards bring a smile to your face today. Leave me a comment and let me know which card is your favorite! As always, I appreciate you visiting my blog.
Wishing you all a crafty day,
Allison

I know others share your sentiment (incl me) and J McGuire will be using this either tomorrow or Mon in her live show on YT. I was hoping 2026 would be less of a dumpster fire than 2025 ……. but it’s not looking that way, much to my disgruntlement and dismay.
Love the card, though!
