Hello, friends! I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. It is time for the December monthly club kits from Spellbinders. The clubs this month are a fun mix of inspiration! I will be sharing the Large Die of the Month, the Small Die of the Month, and the Clear Stamp/Die Club on my cards today.

Aside from the value and various benefits, one of my favorite aspects of Spellbinders clubs is that you can cancel at any time. I just like the flexibility that offers! If you don’t like the club kit next month, just cancel it. The subscription window for new members ends on the 27th of the month, assuming that the club kit(s) has not already sold out.

EARLY ACCESS

Are you already a club member or thinking of joining one of the clubs? One of the other great benefits to being a club member is that you have early access to new products before they become available to the general public! CLICK HERE to see all the collections for December. Now, December is usually the month where companies take a much needed rest to gear up for the new year. I will be sharing a card next week featuring one of the new December products.

Let’s move on to my cards for today. I do have a new YouTube video sharing these cards. You can CLICK HERE to view it on YouTube, or you can view it below.

The Large Die of the Month is called “Wrapped in Care,” and it is so sweet and way more versatile than it appears! My first card is pretty much on par with the intended idea of the set, but wow, I have seen such great inspiration out there with it. This sweet girl is relaxing in between her spa sessions, or maybe she’s just fallen asleep on her bed after a shower! I used the Tufted 3D Embossing Folder for the background, and I used some watercolor paper to give texture to her bathrobe. The sentiment is just one of many from the The Clear Stamp & Die of the Month Club, called “Simply Said.”

On my next card, I have stretched this die set a bit by turning the towel into hair. Or at least, I hope I achieved that look! The inspiration for this card came from this beautiful Japanese paper in Box 13 from Your Paper Insider. I used a sentiment from the ldeal Moments Press Plate & Die Set. I foiled it with matte gold foil on black card stock. I did grab some flower dies from my stash for this card. The flowers on the first card are from the club kit itself.

The  Small Die of the Month for December is called “Better Together,” and it comes with dies to make a pair of owls or otters (or just one animal, if you prefer). I chose to use these adorable otters, and I pulled the Pieced Heart die from my stash to create an ombre background for them. You will see in my video that creating this ombre look took some time and patience, mixing various ink colors to get the colors that I wanted. I think it was well worth it and is a great example of making your own colors with your inks. I don’t have full sets of inks. Even my beloved Distress Inks and Oxides are incomplete sets! And that’s because I know I can get what I need by mixing what I have. I did use two sets of inks from PinkFresh Studio for the heart pieces. This included the following: Ocean Breeze, Aquamarine, Mermaid Cove, Tidal Pond, Turquoise, Paradise, and Atlantis. The first set of colors I used was a bit too green, but mixing it with the second set of bluer colors turned out to be just what I needed. Just call me Goldilocks!

The background is a piece of patterned paper from a winter holiday themed pack, of all things. The pattern reminded me of water ripples, but the color was way off. So again, I mixed some ink colors and tinted the paper to what I needed. You can see how that came together in my video. It’s really a fun thing to do when you can take patterned paper and make it work for your design. The sentiment is another cute one from the Clear Stamp and Die of the Month.

I hope these cards bring a smile to your face today. Leave me a comment and let me know which card is your favorite! As always, I appreciate you visiting my blog.

Wishing you all a crafty day,

Allison
