As soon as I saw the adorable Gingerbread Mugs Die set, I saw a gatefold card! I knew that I wanted the card to open by the handles, so it was just a matter of figuring out how to best make that happen. You will see in my video how I created some small flaps to hold the mugs. The Candy Cane Stripes Stencil was perfect for the background of this card because I could mirror the design by turning the stencil. This stencil can also turn into a fun plaid by turning it one more time! I kicked it up a notch by using two colors.

On the inside of the card, I used the new Large Merry Shadow Dies set. This comes with a shadow layer, which I left off because I wanted to minimize any dimension on the inside. I used one of the stamps from the new Christmas Banner Greetings Stamp Set and did partial stamping. Make sure to watch the video to see my new technique for partial stamping!

One of the fun aspects of this card design is that it stands up! I think this would be so cute for someone to display after they open up the envelope. You’ll notice words on the mug handles – this was achieved with more partial stamping.

I hope this card brings a smile to your face today. As always, I appreciate you visiting my blog.

Wishing you all a crafty day,

Allison
