For my cards today, I played with the fabulous new collaboration between Spellbinders and Stamperia – Candy Christmas. Stamperia has the most gorgeous papers, and with this collection, Spellbinders created dies to perfectly coordinate with the Stamperia designs. It’s such a fun collection. I chose a piece of the paper to use as my background that couldn’t be more representative of this collection. Look at all of those delicious cookies and candy! This paper came from the Stamperia Candy Christmas 8×8 Paper Pad. The paper in this pad is double sided, but there is a 12×12 Pad that is single sided.
I created my Gingerbread Train using a combination of solid card stock and some of the papers from the Stamperia Candy Christmas Collection Kit. Even the “Candy Land” was an image that I cut out from one of the papers. I loved customizing this train, which has endless combinations and also comes with a car and more accessories to make it longer. I tried to keep my candy decorations on the train to a minimum since the background paper is quite busy.
This is an A2 card, and I did use a smaller panel than I normally would have, mainly because I wanted more of that background paper to show. My panel uses two layers from the new Bow & Bell Scallop Frame Set, a set that I’ve been using a lot lately. I added some white enamel dots to a part of the train that had a dot cutout detail in it already. I also added some pink pearl embellishments to mimic smoke.
For my second card, I used the fun Gingerbread Plane and Banners set. The beautiful scene is, of course, from the Stamperia paper. Instead of using one of the banners from the die set, I fussy cut a banner from one of the images in the papers. I also used one of the cloud dies from the set to cut one of the clouds from the papers so that it had a similar look to the clouds at the top of the background paper.
I hope these cards bring a smile to your face today. I will be back soon with more paper inspiration! As always, I appreciate you visiting my blog.
Wishing you all a crafty day,
Allison
