Hello, everyone. Summer is still in full swing here in Colorado with 90 degree weather, so it feels natural to take a break from holiday cards to bring you the Summer Afternoon Release from Waffle Flower! Straight from my air conditioned craft room…thankfully! As always, this release is jam packed with amazing products. Birds, butterflies, flowers, stencils, cover dies, and a lot of ink swatching supplies. I will be sharing some of my favorite things from the release, along with two cards.

I want to mention that, along with the new swatching supplies, Waffle Flower has free downloads and videos to provide inspiration for swatching. I do introduce a little bit of ink swatching in today’s video, but I will be going more in depth next month with a video completely dedicated to these new supplies.

Instagram Giveaway:

Waffle Flower is giving away a $20 gift certificate to one of my followers! If you don’t already follow me on Instagram, click here and make sure to follow me (and comment) in order to qualify for winning the gift!

Free Gift:

Waffle Flower is offering a free gift with purchase! If you purchase $60 or more from the Summer Afternoon Release, you will get the new Overlapping Vertical Hugs Word Die. This is just like the Overlapping Vertical Merry Word Die from last month’s release that I love so much. You’ll see below that I used the new Hugs die on one of my cards today. NOTE: In order to receive the free gift, make sure to ADD the product to your cart and then apply code “G2508” during checkout.

Let’s get to my projects for today, which feature the following main products from the new release:

I do have a new video showing how I made my projects today. You can CLICK HERE to watch on YouTube, or you can view below.

NOTE: all supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this blog post.

My first card features the new Mix-n-match Butterflies Die, along with the Cloudy Skies Stencil and Nesting Piercing Tags. The tag set comes with an insert piece that you can either mount on top of the tag, or in this case cut out the center of the tag. I stacked several tags together and created a shaker that you can see through to the background. I created the background with the Cloudy Skies Stencil, and I think it turned out so gorgeous with all the different shades of blue and green Distress Oxide. The scripty sentiment is from the new Script Greetings Combo stamp and die set.

My second card features the Hummingbirds Die . along with the Overlapping Vertical Hugs Word die. I used the largest die from the Nesting Piercing Ticket Frames set to create the frame. I ink blended both the background and the birds. You can see me ink blend the background in the video, but I did not film the inking of the birds. For all three birds, I used Distress Inks in the following colors: Squeezed Lemonade, Dried Marigold and Picked Raspberry. The little “miss you” sentiment comes from the new Subsentiments Aloha Diecut

That is it for my projects today. I hope they bring a smile to your face. As always, I appreciate you visiting my blog.

Wishing you all a crafty day,

Allison
