Both of my cards today feature the new Firework Friends Stamp Set. This is a huge stamp set that includes critters, fireworks, sentiments, and a tree line silhouette. There is a matching die set, which I did not need for my cards today. For my first card, I used the fireworks and the trees. I first heat embossed the fireworks at the top of a white card stock panel. I used white embossing powder, but clear would have worked, as well. I masked off a little more than an inch of the bottom of the panel and then ink blended a sunset sky. The embossing powder on the fireworks resist the ink. I used the following colors of Distress Inks for my sunset: Mustard Seed, Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves, Wilted Violet, Prize Ribbon, and Black Soot.

Once I was finished ink blending, I let the ink dry for about thirty minutes before stamping the trees with black pigment ink. I stamped a sentiment on the white space at the bottom. This sentiment is part of that same stamp set, and I think the font is so cute. I mounted this panel onto a white A2 card base, and that’s it!

After making the first card, I just had to make another one! This time, I created a sunset using the new Under Water Stencils. I again masked the bottom of the panel, and then I made sure to mask off the areas of the stencil that I wasn’t coloring. I would choose just one opening of each stencil for a color, and then I would move onto the next stencil with the next color. I did purposely overlap the stenciling to get a little bit of that ink blend in there. I also added in some Spiced Marmalade as my second color since I knew I would miss out on that blend of the Mustard Seed and Picked Raspberry. Instead of Black Soot, the last color I used was Stargazer from Pinkfresh Studio.

After letting the inks dry for a bit, I stamped the trees and the sentiment with black pigment ink. The sentiment comes from the Thank You Basics Stamp Set. To finish the card, I added a few embellishments to the design.
