What does it mean when someone tells you that they participate in affiliate programs and they ask you to use their affiliate links?

The simple answer is that we are asking you to support the crafters who inspire you. The best part is that you’re able to show your support at no additional cost to you.

So, how do affiliate links actually work? If you click on a link for a product from one of the companies that I’m affiliated with, and you end up making a purchase (any purchase), then I will earn a small commission. This comes at no cost to you. You pay the same price whether you click on my links or you go to the company’s site directly. While there’s no cost to you, it is so valuable and meaningful to me. Quite simply, it helps me bring you more content. Commissions allow me to pay for the expenses associated with maintaining my blog, as well as the supplies that I use to create the projects. It also helps me see what products you’re really interested in, so that I can share more of those with you going forward.

I buy most of my supplies on my own. I do sometimes receive product from companies when I guest design for them or if I am on their design team. I do not get paid by companies to promote their products. And, I only share products that I love.

I would appreciate hearing from you as to what YOU love and what kinds of things you’d love to see more of from me! Feel free to email me with suggestions and/or any questions you may have at allison@thecreativesprout.com.
