Simon Says Stamp Dear Friend Release

 

Hello, friends! I am excited to share some new products from the Simon Says Stamp May 2023 release called “Dear Friend.” The most exciting part of the Dear Friend collection, in my opinion, is the much anticipated release of Pawsitively Saturated Ink Cubes! Yay! I created several cards for today’s release, focusing on different ways to use the ink cubes. You’ll definitely see a color theme throughout my cards today. Details for each card are below. Along with the new inks, my first card features the new Fancy Thanks Die and the Painted Rainbow Cling Stamp. I used the Bubblegum and Sweets inks to create the rainbow stripes. I created the word die with those same two inks, plus the Taffy color. I just did a direct-to-paper blend of those colors and die cut my word from that. I trimmed my panel with a die from the Deckled Frames set from Waffle Flower – I thought it went well with the wavy look of the rainbow stripes. The subsentiment is from the Reverse Gratitude Sentiment Strips.

My next card uses many of the same elements as the first, but I brought in the Flannel ink cube from the Gray Skies cube set to make some rainbow stripes. I stamped the Thank You Text Cling Stamp over the gray stripes using the Bubblegum ink from the Pink Blooms cube set, and then I ink blended the edges with the same pink ink. I again cut the Fancy Thanks die from an ink blend of the three pink inks. I heat embossed the leaves from the new Blissful Bouquet Stamp Set onto vellum and then tucked those behind the word die. The subsentiment is from the new Elegantly Modern Greetings Stamp Set. By the way, I did my embossing with the help of my new little buddies, the Embossing Clothespins! They definitely come in handy and are something I’ve been missing in my stash of tools until now.

And yes, I do have some cards using this new Painted Rainbow Cling Stamp that aren’t just pink and gray – I’ll share those over the next week!

I made my next two cards with the help of a tool that sadly collects dust in my craft room – my Gel Press! All of the visible components on this first card are not part of the new release, but they’re all created with the new ink cubes! Would you believe that I used those bright pink colors on this card?! I just combined them with the warm grays from the Gray Skies cube setwhile I was pulling prints from my gel press. Once I was done, I had all sorts of random prints to play with, and I die cut everything you see from them. I used the following dies: Layered Warbler, Clustered Leaves, Outline Clustered Leaves, Miss You, and the Postage Stamp Edge Frame. I also inked up the Leaf Edges cling stamp with the Cozy ink.  

My last card features a gel press background that I made with the other group of pinks from the Pink Blooms cube set – Carnation, Peony and Rose. The embossed leaves and flower are from the Blissful Bouquet Stamp Set. I heat embossed the Hello sentiment from the Elegantly Modern Greetings Stamp Set and fussy cut it out. The subsentiment comes from the Reverse Family Sentiment Strips.
