Hello, crafty friends! Today I am sharing a few cards that I made using the July 2022 Small Die of the Month Club set from Spellbinders.  When I saw this set, I just had to have it. Ironically, I am not much of a beach person – I’m more of a campy, mountain girl. But, I just love everything about this die set. The clubs from Spellbinders are so great because they’re such a good value AND you can cancel at any time. So, I signed up for this particular club this month, and I had so much fun making these cards!

Making the First Card

I started by die cutting all of my elements from the Club kit. I used Kraft card stock for the body, plaid paper for the bathing suit, and solid turquoise and orange card stock for the hat. It is so easy to assemble! I die cut the inverted scallop circle twice from heavy weight white card stock so that I could stack them for dimension. I used the large circle die from the scallop set to also cut my background, which is simply a patterned paper from Honey Bee Stamps. I glued that to the back of the white scallop frame and then adhered that to my card panel, which I had created using the Pinpoint Burst Plate.

I positioned my beach-loving lady in the circle, with her hands resting towards the bottom of the scallop frame. I stamped the sentiment onto white card stock with orange ink and then die cut it using the Featured Sentiments die set.

Making the Second Card

Part of what really drew me to this die set is the cute little beach tote and flip flops. I decided to make a really clean and simple card with them. I used the same plaid paper for the tote that I used for the bathing suit in the first card. I cut a piece of yellow card stock to glue to the top of the tote bag so that it looks like the interior is yellow. The bag has a slit at the top so that you can tuck the flip flops inside. Once I had everything adhered together, I mounted the tote onto a white Mod rectangle die-cut that I had double stacked onto a Kraft A2 card base. The sentiment comes from a 2021 Stamptember collaboration set between Simon Says Stamp and My Favorite Things, so it is not available for purchase anymore. Can you believe that this year’s Stamptember is just around the corner?!

I honestly couldn’t stop making hats and bathing suits with this set, so I made a third card. I was going to use the same plaid paper for this card, as well, but I was really loving the Cool Collab paper pad and haven’t really put it to use until now. I did actually create the pattern on the bottom hat myself because I wanted another small pattern with a white background. This was easy to do with tiny star stamps and inks from my stash.

This card came together pretty easily. I just cut the film strip die from white card stock and mounted it onto a turquoise card base. I usually mount this filmstrip die onto a larger card base, but I kind of liked the look of just the filmstrip itself for this card. I white heat embossed the sentiments onto coordinating colored card stock and then cut them using a die from the Nested Banners die set. I finished the card with some clear fairy drops.

I finally had to stop myself from making more and more cards with this die set because it was so much fun. I really love how these cards turned out, and I hope they put a smile on your face! Leave a comment to let me know which card is your favorite. Thank you so much for stopping by today.

Wishing you all a crafty day,

Allison
