Making the Card

I used the Stitched Diamond Argyle Die to cut an A2 sized panel of turquoise card stock. I then stitched the design with red, pink and white embroidery floss. I like to do my stitching in front of the TV – it’s very relaxing and a great way to bring my crafting out of my craft room. Once I was done stitching, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base. I use liquid glue to adhere my stitching panels.

I cut the J, O, and Y stitching letter dies out of white card stock. I was careful when removing them from the die cutting machine to remove them upside down in order to leave the little circles intact. I did put tape across the back to keep them in place. I love stitching these letter dies, but I wanted a more solid look for this card. I added a couple more layers of letters behind each one for dimension and then glued them to the panel.

To embellish the word, I added some florals from the Christmas Blooms die set. My sentiment was hot foiled with red foil, but I took it step further. If you hot foil a sentiment onto white card stock with colored foil, you can get the reverse sentiment by keeping the negative of that foil and then using a solid hot foil plate to foil that negative piece. To finish the card, I added some small jewels to the centers of the stitched diamonds.

Thanks so much for joining me today. I hope this card put a smile on your face!

Wishing you all a crafty day,

Allison
