Hello, Friends! This weekend, I had some fun playing with my Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System. I recently bought some new hot foil plates that I wanted to try out. If you haven’t hot foiled yet, I highly recommend it! I do have a laminator and have foiled that way, but this is just so much different.

I was so excited to get the Butterflies Hot Foil Plate by Pinkfresh Studio a few months ago. There are so many possibilities, and I played around with a few of them this weekend. For today’s card, I foiled the butterflies onto white card stock using Spellbinders Polished Brass hot foil and then cut them out with the matching die. I used the smaller butterfly for this card and saved the bigger one for later.

For a background, I really wanted to play with the Spellbinders Rainbow hot foil. I used the Spellbinders Modern Lines hot foil plate to apply the foil to a panel of white card stock. The rainbow foil is amazing – so much shine and vibrant color! I framed the panel with the Stitched Rectangle Frame die from My Favorite Things.

Assembly was fairly straightforward. I glued the framed panel to a white A2 card base. I gave the butterfly dimension by just gluing the body to the card base. I added some brassy colored jewels to the body of the butterfly and scattered some around the background, as well. The sentiment comes from the Spellbinders Yana’s Special Sentiments hot foil plate.

The fun thing about this project is that it resulted in an easy second card. When I used the Modern Lines hot foil plate with the rainbow foil, the leftover negative space was so cool, that I had to use it!

I made a pretty simple square card using the following products:

MFT Stitched Square STAX Die-namics

Simon Says Stamp – Peeking Daisy Die

Spellbinders Everyday Sentiments II Hot Foil Plate

Tonic Studios Mirror Card Stock – Magnificent Magenta

Thanks for joining me today. I always appreciate you stopping by!

Wishing you all a crafty day!

Allison
