Hello, Everyone! I am back today with a summer-themed card featuring products from Penguin Palace. I haven’t been able to make as many cards as I’d like to lately. My husband and I have been doing a lot of DIY projects in our yard, which is not my favorite place to be doing projects! I know it will all be worth the effort, but I’m ready for it to be done. When I do have time to make cards, I am making them to send to my son, who is at overnight camp. I know this little penguin will make him smile, especially since my son shares my love of ice cream.

The penguin and the ice cream image come from the Penguin Agenda stamp set. The other images and the sentiment come from the Summer Sunshine set. Oh, and the sun comes from the new Mysterious Egypt set. I stamped the images, colored them with Copic Markers and cut them out.

I took a piece of Bristol Smooth card stock and did some ink smooshing with Distress Inks. I used some of my favorite colors – Tumbled Glass, Twisted Citron and a little bit of Broken China. I cut that piece down to a square panel. I then cut a smaller square of white card stock using a die from my stash and arranged my scene on it. I adhered that scene to the ink-smooshed panel.

I made a 4.25″ square card base out of white card stock. To be honest, I couldn’t decide on where to place the sentiment that I had planned, so I decided to use the “Summer” sentiment to create a pattern on the card base. I stamped it with Distress Oxide Ink in Tumbled Glass and Twisted Citron. I used my MISTI to help with getting the spacing and alignment right.

And that’s it for my card today – thanks for joining me! Be sure to check out all of the adorable products in the Penguin Palace online shop

Wishing you all a crafty day!

Allison
