Hello, Everyone! Today I am sharing a round card featuring products from Penguin Palace.
This card centers around the adorable little girl from the new Mysterious Egypt stamp set. I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored her with Copic Markers and used the matching die to cut her out.
I took a 6″ square piece of white card stock and placed it on my Stencils 360°™ base using the 6″ paper positioner. If you have not seen the Stencils 360°™ in action, click here to see a demonstration. It is really innovative! I placed the 6″ guide ring in the base and pulled out the Magical Fireworks stencil set. There are two stencils in this set, which, when combined, make a really cool design. I only used one of the stencils for this card, since I just wanted it to look like there were rays shining out from the center of the card where the girl would be positioned. I used yellow distress inks (Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed and Fossilized Amber) for the stenciling and chose to use a 60° rotation.
Next, I grabbed a large circle die from my stash and cut out the stenciled image. While I had the die out, I also cut a piece of yellow card stock. I scored the yellow circle to create a hinge and then adhered the hinge to the back of the stenciled circle to create a round card. Round cards are so easy to make and so fun for the recipient.
I had the perfect sentiment in my stash to pair with the girl, so I stamped it on the front of the card with Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide. I then heat-embossed the sentiment with clear embossing powder. I stacked the girl onto two identical die cut layers so that she would have dimension when glued to the center of the card. I added two turquoise gems to the girl to complete the look.
To finish the card, I added glossy gold dots in between the stenciled rays. And that’s it for my card today – thanks for joining me! Be sure to check out all of the adorable products in the Penguin Palace online shop.
