Hello, Everyone! Today I am sharing this sweet card featuring products from Penguin Palace.

Crackling Campfire – Meet Lava

I finally just got my little cube of Crackling Campfire Distress Ink and had to use it. What better way to test it out than to make some Lava? I smooshed it onto my glass mat, along with Candied Apple and Fired Brick Distress Inks. I spritzed it with water, and then I ran a piece of watercolor card stock through my “lava.” I then spritzed the card stock and held it at an angle so the colors would run down the paper in a striped fashion. I let that dry – background complete!

Making the Card
I took an A2 sized sheet of white card stock and positioned the Hearts Bouquet Stencil 360°™ over it. I blended the same three colors of Distress Ink as I used for the background over the side of the stencil with the solid hearts. I then grabbed a heart shaped die from my stash so that I could cut a heart in the middle of the stenciled design. I cut this panel down to 3.5″x4.75″.
I stamped the volcano image from the Aloha Hawaii stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Neenah 80# card stock, colored it with Copic Markers and cut it out with the matching die. I temporarily positioned it on my panel so that I could figure out where to stamp the sentiment. Once that was stamped, the card was ready to assemble.

I cut my Distress Inked background down so that it was slightly larger than the heart die, and then I glued it to an A2 sized white card base. I took a red piece of craft foam, cut it slightly smaller than my stenciled panel, and then cut a heart in the same position as the panel. I glued that foam to the back of the panel and then popped them up onto the card base so that my background was framed by the stenciled design. To finish, I glued my cute volcano (love those cheeks!) onto two more volcanoes that I had cut from white card stock and then glued the dimensional image to the card.
