Hello! Today I am sharing a card that was inspired by the latest Color Throwdown challenge #633.

Color Throwdown

This is my first time making a card for the Color Throwdown challenge, although it will certainly not be my last. It is so much easier for me to find inspiration through color than probably anything else. When I saw this week’s challenge, I knew it was the perfect time to make a masculine card. I have also been wanting to use the Forest Scenery stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. It just screams “camp” to me, and anything that reminds me of my camp always puts a smile on my face.

Making the card

I am working on some bigger projects this week, so this stamp set allowed me to make another clean and simple card without much fuss. I simply chose distress oxide colors that lined up with the color challenge, and stamped my little heart out. I used Hickory Smoke, Stormy Sky and Brushed Corduroy. The deer was stamped with Ground Espresso. I framed the card with the larger die from MFT’s Stitched Rectangle Frames die-namics set. I stacked three of these frames together for dimension. The sentiment comes from MFT’s Bitty Birthday Wishes stamp set. I trimmed the sentiment using a die from MFT’s Skinny Strips set. I almost always use this die set to cut my sentiments, and then I just trim them to the appropriate length.

That’s it for my card today – I really hope you like it. Maybe the colors will inspire you as well.

Wishing you all a crafty day!

Allison
